Architectural style

1900s style, geometrized szeceszió movement.

From a plastic point of view, the ground floor serves as a base for the two level columns from the 1st and 2nd floors.

Architect Ignatz Alpar

(this architect’s evolution from the Neo-Baroque architecture from the School for Boys, in 1902, to the evolved Secession of the Post Office Palace, 1911, is remarkable).

Similarities in the treatment of areas (i.e.: the panel and the sobriety of decorative elements) between the Post Office Palace and new building of the City Hall can be noted.

Unfortunately, the sober and elegant monumentality of this building is somewhat overshadowed by large trees on this boulevard.

As a public service building, it can also be visited inside, downstairs.
