Sf. Maria Greek Catholic Church

SF. MARIA GREEK CATHOLIC CHURCH IN FABRIC (1 Mitropolit Sterca Suluţiu Square, built in 1765). Sf. Maria Church was initially Catholic, then, from 1902, Greek Catholic, from 1948 – Orthodox, and today it is once again Greek Catholic. The building has the austere forms of the provincial Austrian Baroque. The tripling of the pilasters’ edges from the front façade gives the composition a rhythmic movement, typical to Baroque compositions. The canopy that protects the entrance is a contemporary addition.
