The rich Religious Art Collection of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral in Timisoara is housed in the cathedral’s basement in Victoriei Square, with the entrance inside the church, not far from the iconostasis, on the right. Here is kept a valuable collection of old church books (some manuscripts of the seventeenth century), icons (the oldest from the sixteenth century), iconostases and other religious objects.
