Access by car
Located in the Banat Plain, Timisoara is an important road communication hub in western Romania.
The city lies on the route of the Pan-European transport corridor IV and has access, thanks to the Bega Canal, to the European Corridor VII.
Timisoara is connected to the A1 motorway, which links the city with Arad and Deva, Sibiu.
The connection with Serbia is on the E 70 European road (DN 59).
The connection with Hungary is on the A1 motorway, linked at the border, in Nădlac II, with M43 - the motorway to Szeged.
There is a ring road in the northern part of the city and the southern ring road is currently under construction.
