tren sageata-smallTimişoara is the most important railway junction in the Timis county and the Western side of Romania.
The main railway transport network in Romania is CFR- Caile Ferate Române. 

In the last years there has been developped also some alternative to CFR, called Regio Călători and Astra Transcarpatic, that ensures travels in differend regions of Romania. So departures and arrivals from Timisoara to the surroundings, can be assured 
by these train companies.

The North Railway Station (Gara de Nord)
is the main railway station of the city, at only 15 minutes away from the city centre. 

To the North Railway Station one can reach by trolleybuses 11, 14, 18 tramways 1, 8, bus 3 and the Express buses 1 and 3.
