Szekely Palace
Situated on 3 August 1919 Bd., with building permit from March 8, 1911, and housing permit from October 24, 1911, the palace was built in only 7 and a half months, (architect László Székely).
Next to Neptun Palace is the palace that the architect built for his mother. This building’s special value is the fact that, although it was built before the Neptun Palace, it is one of very few buildings in Timişoara belonging to the Wiener Sezession movement (“the Vienna Secession” movement). This movement corresponds to the last phase of the 1900s architecture. Simple, abstract, often square “geometric-like” ornaments are used, which predict the ways that architecture will pass through after the First World War.
